Minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment

Amadou Sanneh is The Gambia’s Minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment. He has fourteen years of experience working in the financial, marketing & management, organisational and institutional development areas of public and private enterprise development.

Mr Sanneh is a professional accountant and has had training in business administration. His professional activities over the years have covered the restructuring of public enterprises through performance contracts and privatisation programmes. They have also covered investment promotion and private enterprise development. He has managed public enterprises and provided policy advisory services to the Gambian government. He has also provided consultancy services to the private sector and to various specialised UN agencies.

Key government posts that Mr Sanneh has held include those of Financial Adviser, Office of the President from 1990 to 1994, Accountant General between 1994 and 1996, and Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Employment from April to August 1996.

Mr Sanneh holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Manchester Business School and is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. He is married with three children.
